Release of PeopleConnect 2.0 – Maintaining identity data
The my-IAM PeopleConnect Release 2.0 contains valuable new functions, such as the creation of identities and the editing of existing contacts. It is also possible to use all contacts from PeopleConnect via an app in Outlook.

Creation and maintenance of identity data
Imported identity data can now be updated via the PeopleConnect interface. The update includes editing and deleting contacts. This new “identity maintenance” feature is available for all data imported into PeopleConnect.
Editing and creating contacts can either be allowed for all employees of the company or restricted to certain users.
In addition, new identities can be created. There are various individual templates to choose from:
- Partner
- Customer
- Private contacts
- Resources (such as rooms)
The templates can be customized. These new identities are written to the PeopleConnect database and can then be accessed by all of the company’s employees.
Improved authorization
In PeopleConnect 2.0, you can now also specify which identities and contacts a role can create, edit and delete. In addition, restrictions can now be placed on the read or written identity for each attribute. For example, it is possible to define which attributes may be read and written and to specify mandatory fields.
The visibility of data is controlled in PeopleConnect via a role concept and the DataAccess policy. All users are initially assigned the user role by default (this can be customized). The admin role is actively assigned to specific users. Depending on the role, a user may or may not be able to see certain data. Access permissions can be granularly refined by defining object types or attribute-based rules for each role.
Use PeopleConnect data in Outlook
A PeopleConnect add-in for Outlook is now available. This allows users to use the PeopleConnect data directly from the Outlook mail client.
This supports the parallel use of PeopleConnect and Outlook in everyday working life. It is more convenient for the user to have all contact data available in PeopleConnect and Outlook.
Further improvements
Further performance improvements and updates have been implemented in the latest version.
